New Blog Coming Soon

Well as many of you know, my blogging has been lacking lately, I think it was just a number of things that was holding me up.  Work, summer, football, and probably just a general lack of time. Now that I’m in my new place I don’t find myself just sitting in front of my computer as I used to.

Watching Purdue right now, pretty crazy game against Illinois.  We keep hitting big shots, but they keep coming right back and making big plays too. Hopefully the guys will pull this one out, we can’t afford to lose 4 in a row, 2 was horrible enough, let alone 3.

Anyways some friends and I are going to be starting a new blog very soon.  First posts should start coming up this weekend after the Polar Bear Plunge that we are doing on Saturday.  I’m pretty excited, I’ve always wanted to do one of those, and this one happens to be sponsored by the bar just down the road and is for charity.

Gonna get back to the game, but just wanted to get something up here, keep an eye open for www.theawesometown.com soon!

And a great Tuesday night it is.  Went with my new roommate out for dinner tonight at a local place called Jimmy’s.  They have really good pizza and a great appetizer “Taco Sticks”  make sure to get them hot instead of mild.  Anyways they have great pizza and Travis and I needed some good pizza after the good afternoons worth of work we put in on the garage after work.  It’s amazing how much a good cleaning will do, instead of a bunch of junk, a tractor and my car, we now have 2 cars, a tractor and everything is now in order.  Instead of it just being a beer pong room now on the weekends we have plenty of room for beer pong and a small dance floor for whenever we feel the need to rock out at 2-3am.

With tomorrow being Wednesday that means that its time for another trip to Jus Jeans for the best wings ever, all you can eat for 6 bucks!  Its going to be a pretty epic night with the crew that we have coming.  Just leading into what should be another amazing weekend.  Most likely going to be the best weather of the summer for an entire weekend and its only about 2 months to late, but hey we’ll take what we can deal with and go from there I suppose.

Well its about time for Luke and Darth Vader to fight so I’m gonna sign off for now.  Have a good week and check back in before long, I realize I’m not back to my daily posts but its better than going a month or two without any.

Today is kind of a big day, not only is it Wednesday which means that tonight is all you can eat wings for 6 buck’s at Jus Jeans in Cromwell, but I also just ordered my first pair of Ray Ban’s. I’m so excited to get them, I had been wanting a nice pair of aviators for a long time and just decided to take the plunge today and put in an order for some.  Picked them up on zappos.com which I have had nothing but great experiences with in the past.  Last time I ordered shoes from there was when I picked up my Sperry’s last summer.  I ordered them one day and the next day they were at my house with free shipping.  I’m really hoping that is the same case for the sunglasses as I really would  like to have them in for the Big Lebowski party im going to this weekend.

Thats right, you read correctly, a Big Lebowski themed party, and I’m not the host, its one of my dad’s golfing buddies.  He has a sweet cottage out on Dewart Lake and has movie night every few weeks, this weekend is Lebowski night and he’s going to figure out a way to do some lawn bowling as well.  I’ve already got my Medina Sod bowling shirt and some shorts that will work perfect for the outfit.  So excited for this weekend, Scotty Cliff is coming in from KC, Nate is coming in from Chi-town, Shelbs is coming in from Minny, its going to be a bit like 4th of July all over, except this time we finally have a great forecast for the weekend, amazing!  Thats all for now, I will write again soon!

Off to Chicago

Well this weekend should be pretty awesome, heading up to Chicago for Amit’s B-day celebration.   He has a trolley rented for tomorrow night to drive us around the city while we enjoy some drinks and get the party started.  I got to do this one other time and it was an absolute blast to just roll around the city blasting some music while enjoying some cocktails.  It will be nice to get back up to Chicago as well, like to make one trip up there a summer to see everybody and get a bit of the city back in me.  Its tough to convince me to leave the lake during the summer as we only get so many weekends, but Chicago is one place I will leave the lake to go spend some time.  Hopefully we get some nice weather.

It’s been awesome having my own place now, I’m having so much fun decorating the place.  My mom and one of her friends came over earlier this week and helped me re-arrange a lot of stuff and its amazing how much of a difference it made.  The living room feels 3 times bigger with the current setup and doesn’t feel like I’m wasting any space.  They have also found some neat lake themed decorations that have added a lot of personality to the place, I’ve also picked out a few things myself that I really like.  I got a neat Lake Tippecanoe sign with some oars on the side for the porch walking out to the water, as well as a neat picture of a bike on a beach, I’m sure I could do a better job describing it but thats all I have for now.  I’ll try to get some pics up on here as soon as I feel like the place is pretty well set.  Just a few more things to do really, need to get a new chair for the living room, some drapes and blinds, a kitchen table and chairs, and maybe one or two other things here and there.

I also am slowly starting to get back into wakeboarding which has been a blast so far!  Went out for the first time in probably 7 years last week and amazingly got up on the first try, though I was down not more than 3 seconds later, I was just happy to get up.  Yesterday though was a big improvement.  I got up each time and actually rode it for a little bit and was able to manuever around inside the wake.  I ended up wiping out each time I tried to get outside the wake but I’m getting closer, just a few more weeks and hopefully I will be trying some small jumps.

Well about time to go grab some lunch for the crew here at the office.  Picking up some Jon Wongs, should be money.

Been a while

Well it sure has been a while since I have posted, and I’ve said in the past that I hope to do more posts, to be honest we will just see.  I find it harder to find time during these summer months to do posts as there is so much more to do.  On top of that I’ve been quite busy this past month, lots of stuff has changed for the good.

On June 19th I became a home owner!  I’m no longer living in Indianapolis and am back up close to my home town.  I’ve got a great place on a bay on Lake Tippecanoe and I absolutely love it.  I’ve been there for 3 weekends now and each one has been amazing, I don’t anticipate that changing anytime soon either.  Last weekend really was the best, 4th of July on the lake is my favorite weekend of the year.  We started partying Thursday night at Bingo and didn’t stop until Sunday night.  I think at the max there were close to 30 people at my place.   All in all it was a great weekend with no drama, and there are lots of great pics to remember it all.

Its kind of a transition period here for me at work.  Recently I’ve been helping out with all kinds of paperwork here in the office while moving all kinds of other stuff around to get my office ready.  Still doing a lot of work getting my house ready as well.  Lots of clothes unpacking to do and I’ve got a room full of other stuff that I just need to figure out where I’m going to put.  I really just need another 3 days of vacation to work on the place and get it where I want, all in good time though.

Guess its time to sign off for now, until we talk again, and hopefully sooner than later.

Memorial Day Weekend Goodness

Well it was an awesome start to the summer last weekend.  One of the best Memorial Day Weekends that I can remember.  The lake water wasn’t even to terribly cold, it was brisk but warmer than previous years.  It was really nice to get out on the new pontoon and just chill in the middle of the lake listening to music and having a few beers.  It was definitely a good start to the summer.

I was a little dissappointed in the Indy 500 turnout, mainly because I bought a car in the auction at the club and he didn’t end up winning me any money, but other than that I was happy for Helio, he seems like a good guy and has been through quite a bit recently.  Its also always awesome to hear Jim Nabors sing “Back Home Again In Indiana”.  We also got some great dominos action in over with the Smith’s, I didn’t fare to well but it was still a good time.

Last night was a fun night here in Indy, Ryan Dill’s post-birthday celebration.  I cooked up a pretty good mean of beer can chicken, and McAlister potatos.  Nate, Ryan, and I feasted on that and watched the hockey.  Hockey turned out bad for the Hawks, hard to describe how I feel, the goalie (Huet) played awesome the whole game.  The offense just never seemed to be able to get their act in gear.  Good season for the Hawks, hopefully next year they can make it to the Stanley Cup Finals.  Jeff joined us later in the night for a game of Trivial Pursuit 90’s Edition, it was a bit rediculous, really made us feel like we didn’t grow up in the 90’s.  We kind of got to thinking though that maybe we would be better at the 2000’s edition because we were old enough to pay attention to what happened for the whole decade.  Does anybody even know if there is a 2000’s edition of that game out yet?

Thats about all for now, heading home tonight or tomorrow, lots to do this weekend back at home.  Hope everybody has a good weekend.
